A meeting was convened at Bryngarw Park on 13th July for a debrief on the consultation findings.

Representatives from a range of different interest groups including the Wildlife Trust, AWEN Trust, the railway, SUSTRANS, the Garw Heritage Society, the County Council, and the Community Council, attended a debrief by the Consultants (GKA) on the results of the consultation. The general opinion was that some 80% of those who responded to the questionnaire were in support of the proposal to build a Heritage Centre attached to the Train Shed, and combine the aspects of the railway, the Heritage Society and the Community Path in to an overall destination for the local community as well as a tourism attraction. Evaluation for and preparation of future development plans will follow in the medium term. It was agreed that involvement with the community was a critical function to build support and create a benefit overall.
